50th anniversary of SAC

50 YEARS OF EDUCATION FOR DISABLED CHILDREN IN INDIA For the past 50 years, SAC - in full the Calcutta Action Foundation - has ensured that tens of thousands of underprivileged children in India could go to school and hundreds of young people could learn a trade. India is among the fastest growing economies in the world, yet many street children, children of casteless people and of indigenous tribes cannot attend school without third-party help. SAC consists solely of volunteers. PROGRAM OF 5 OCTOBER 11 a.m.-4 p.m.: Continuous photo presentation, film and children's activities. 1 p.m.: Mayor Van Bree opens the SAC photo exhibition. Followed by Indian dance group Payel, lecture on education in India and presentation of Indian cuisine.
